Export keys from a slot to another

hello,

 

Using SafeNet software key management utility version 4.2.1, we are trying to export keys from slot 1 to a new initialized slot 5 using the KMU software, exporting keys was successful using a wrapper key inside slot 1 but when trying to import key to slot 5 we don't have the wrapper key in slot 5 that will enable us to import keys.

 

what type of keys should we use as wrapper key on exporting others keys?

Hi,

when you wrap / unwrap a key, from a slot to another or from a token to another, the wrapping key must be the same on both party. I mean, not only the same type, but actually the same value.

You should export the wrapping key from the slot 1 and import it in the slot 5. Then wrap and unwrap the other key.
